Kopana – rhymes with banana – holds a BA in Fine Art [Photography] and MLIS from the University of Kentucky. She is a preservationist, photographer, musician, artist, and Oral History Archivist for Louie B. Nunn Center for Oral History & Curator of Newspapers for Kentucky Digital Newspaper Program, Special Collections Research Center, University of Kentucky Libraries. Presently earning her master’s in Historic Preservation from UK’s College of Design, she serves on the committee of deTours for The Blue Grass Trust for Historic Preservation. From 2007-2013, she managed the NEH funded National Digital Newspaper Program for Kentucky for the Library of Congress’ Chronicling America and created meta|morphosis: film-to-digital lecture series for global newspaper and microfilm digitization training.  Since 2013, she has managed the Nunn Center’s catalogue and content management system SPOKEdb while maintaining the center’s digital preservation, project management, accession, reference, recording studio production, A/V reformatting, and liaison duties.
